Translation & Localisation

Training translation adapts content from one language to another, while localisation ensures cultural relevance — adjusting examples, imagery, and tone for the target audience.

Full Definition

Training translation converts the text and audio of a learning programme from a source language into one or more target languages. Localisation goes further — it adapts cultural references, examples, visuals, and even the structure of content to be authentically relevant in the target market.

The distinction matters enormously in corporate training. A compliance module written for a UK audience may reference legislation, workplace norms, and case studies that are legally or culturally inapplicable in India, Brazil, or Japan. Translation alone will not fix this — localisation requires a subject matter expert review for the target market.

For global enterprises deploying training across multiple markets, professional translation and localisation is not optional — it is a legal and ethical requirement for compliance training, and a strategic necessity for any programme where local relevance drives engagement.

Aktrea supports content translation and localisation in 15+ languages, including South Asian, Southeast Asian, European, and Middle Eastern markets — with native speaker review and voice-over recording as standard.
